On December 15th, 1990, Symmetry Software Corporation became the new publisher and distributor of EasyShare.  We are extremely proud to be associated with ShirtPocket Software, the developers of EasyShare.  Your customer support and upgrade questions should now be addressed to us.  You may reach us at (602) 998-9106.

  6. This is a demonstration version of EasyShare.  It is restricted in the following ways:

  8.     1.    Only one volume or folder may be published at a time.
  9.     2.    Only one user may access a published volume at a time.
  10.     3.    A volume may only be published for 10 minutes.

  12. Full functioning versions of EasyShare are available directly from Symmetry.

  16. • You only need to install EasyShare on the computer that you are using as the file server. Install  the AppleShare software from your System disks on the other computers. Make sure you use Apple's Installer to do this. Don't drag the AppleShare file from the System disk floppy into your System Folder.

  18. • The Undo button has been removed and replaced with a list of users currently sharing your published volume or folder.

  20. • Because of a bug in the Apple System software, you can run into problems if you install EasyShare on two computers and then attempt to share each others disk.

  22. • If you are installing EasyShare on a MacPlus and find that you are having problems you may need a patch file that was developed by Apple to update the AppleTalk software. This file is called "AppleTalk" and is on your distribution disk.  Place this file in your System Folder and re-start your Mac.

  24. • Sometimes EasyShare has problems with other Startup (INIT) documents in your System Folder. Try renaming "EasyShare INIT " to "zEasyShare INIT" or "!EasyShare INIT". If you still have problems with other Startup documents, try to isolate the Startup document you are having trouble with before you call us.

  26. • If you are running EasyShare under multifinder you will find that perfomance can be dramatically improved if you have two windows open on your desktop. The second window doesn't have to be anything important, for example the calculator would work. By having this second window open, the Mac will schedule EasyShare more frequently.
